Learn the Yoga of the Breath 

Pattabhi Jois always said that the Ashtanga Yoga he was teaching was Patanjali’s Ashtanga Yoga as outlined in the Yoga Sutras. He also maintained that the method and sequencing of asanas he taught had their origin in the Yoga Korunta, an ancient text written in sanskrit by the sage Vamana Rishi. Pattabhi Jois' teacher, Tirumalai Krishnamacharya, related an oral translation of the text to him and he used it as the basis to create the asana vinyasa system.


I am a seasoned Ashtanga yoga practitioner and teacher currently based in Hamburg, Germany. I have been practicing daily for more than a decade. I have made several pilgrimages to India and honored the Ashtanga Yoga parampara. Although much has changed along the way, the clarity and simplicity of yoga always remains the same.


Ashtanga Yoga is a complete system to increase the power of concentration and gain control of the busy thinking machine in our head. Once we have mind control, we can eliminate all negativity, insecurity, fear, etc. from our mind. We begin enjoying life just for the sake of feeling alive. Although this system looks quite physical, you don’t need to be fit, flexible, young, healthy etc. to practice it - anyone can. What is more,  you don’t need any expensive gear, gadgets, products or doodats.
